The Anglican Pacifist Fellowship We were established in 1937, and now have some 1,200 members in over 30 countries, as well as a sister organisation, the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, in the United States of America. We founded the Week of Prayer for World Peace, and continue to have close ties with it. We are a member of the Network of Christian Peace Organisations and of the International Peace Bureau. The Baptist Peace Fellowship (BPF) was founded in 1931. The BPF aims to provide a fellowship for Baptists who find that the use of military force cannot be reconciled with the teaching of Jesus Christ and His acceptance of the Cross. We ally ourselves with those who seek nonviolent means to confront and overcome injustice and so work at all times for the things that make for peace in national, community, church and personal life. Corrymeela is people of all ages and Christian traditions, who, individually and together are committed to the healing of Social, Religious and Political divisions that exist in Northern Ireland and throughout the World. The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) is a World Council of Churches (WCC) initiative which was established in 2002 in response to a call made by the Heads of Churches in Jerusalem, and Palestinian and Israeli NGOs. The mission of the EAPPI is to accompany Palestinians and Israelis in their nonviolent actions and concerted advocacy efforts to end the occupation. The Fellowship of Reconciliation began as a response to the challenge of First World War. While opposing war and militarism it strives to promote those things which make for peace and justice, to build - in the words of our founders - 'a world order based on love'. Today FoR: * Supports and affirms all
those with a commitment to peace and nonviolence; Network of Christian Peace Organisations NCPO is an ecumenical network of Christian peace-building organisations. Each year, we organise the 'Peace Zone' at Greenbelt Christian Arts Festival in August and an ecumenical Holy Innocents Day Service at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, London. We are an organisation of Quakers (members of the Religious Society of Friends) in the north of Britain set up to support "the active promotion of peace in all its height and breadth". This web site gives information and news of our recent and current activities, as well as a wide range of online peace resources, links to other sites and news of other activities which may be of interest. We hope you find what you want here. Pax Christi is an international Christian peacemaking movement, based on the gospel and inspired by faith. Our vision is of a world where people can live in peace and without fear of violence, in all its forms. We believe in the power of prayer, reconciliation, forgiveness, justice and nonviolence and of the right to live in a culture which promotes these values and treats the whole of God’s creation in a respectful and just manner. The PPU is an independent organisation of individuals from all walks of life. Their shared belief is that war and violent conflict are neither necessary nor inevitable. Their shared aim is to work towards creating a just world free from war. Have I missed one? Let me know of any other good organisations that promote peace. |
